OKLAHOMA TRUCK BUYING
Sell Your Truck in Oklahoma
Have a semi truck, dump truck, box truck, utility truck, pickup, or another work truck to sell in Oklahoma? Tell EasyTruckBuyer what you own, where it is located, and what condition it is in. We evaluate your truck’s details before deciding whether an offer is possible.
EasyTruckBuyer has been buying trucks since 2007. We work with individuals, owner-operators, businesses, and fleets across all 50 states.
Every truck is evaluated individually. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee an offer or purchase.

QUICK ANSWER
How Do You Sell a Commercial Truck in Oklahoma?
Start with the year, make, model, approximate mileage, Oklahoma ZIP code, operating condition, and ownership status. Add the VIN, engine details, equipment specifications, and photos if available.
You can submit the truck to EasyTruckBuyer without first advertising it privately. We review your information and may request follow-up details or an inspection before deciding whether to make an offer.
Check whether the vehicle has a paper Oklahoma title, an electronic title, or an active lien. Those details can affect the paperwork if you decide to complete a sale.
What Types of Oklahoma Trucks Can You Submit?
Truck configuration, mechanical condition, installed equipment, and ownership records all matter. The details needed for a highway tractor differ from those for a service-body vehicle or a non-running dump truck.
Dump Trucks and Vocational Equipment
For dump trucks, flatbeds, service-body trucks, bucket trucks, and other vocational vehicles, describe the chassis, body, axle configuration, and permanently installed equipment.
If the truck has hydraulics, a power take-off, lifting equipment, pumps, or tanks, explain whether they work. Disclose known damage to the frame, suspension, drivetrain, or mounted equipment.
Semi Trucks, Sleeper Tractors, and Day Cabs
For a highway tractor, include the engine, transmission, mileage, axle arrangement, cab type, and operating status. Identify warning lights, emissions-system faults, derate conditions, or major mechanical problems.
If the tractor uses IRP apportioned registration, mention that status. A registration credential can help identify records, but it does not prove ownership.
Box Trucks, Delivery Trucks, and Pickups
For a box truck or delivery vehicle, identify cargo-body configuration, liftgate condition, mileage, and any body or floor damage. For work pickups, include cab and bed configuration, approximate mileage, and known mechanical or accident issues.
An owner can also describe prior local delivery, farm, construction, or highway use when it helps explain the truck’s condition.
Non-Running Trucks and Business Fleets
You may submit vehicles with engine faults, collision damage, missing components, or non-running status. Tell us whether a disabled truck rolls, steers, and has brakes that release.
For a fleet, provide a separate unit list with VIN, model, mileage, equipment, condition, title owner, lien, and location. Each truck is evaluated individually; purchase is not guaranteed.
How EasyTruckBuyer Evaluates an Oklahoma Truck
The process starts with details about the truck, not an automatic offer. An additional review or inspection may be needed before a purchase decision.
01
Submit the Vehicle Information
Provide specifications, condition, location, and ownership details. Disclose financing, missing parts, non-running status, or access restrictions early.
02
We Review the Truck
EasyTruckBuyer evaluates the details. We may ask for photographs, records, further condition information, or an inspection.
03
An Offer May Be Made
If the truck fits our purchasing criteria, we may present an offer. You decide whether to accept; no price or purchase is guaranteed.
04
Complete the Sale and Collection
For an accepted purchase, the parties address applicable documents, liens, agreed payment terms, and collection. Free towing is included; no universal deadlines are promised.
OKLAHOMA DOCUMENTS
Oklahoma Truck Titles: What Should You Prepare?
Oklahoma moved to electronic title issuance by default on July 1, 2025. Existing paper Oklahoma titles remain valid. Before completing a transaction, identify the title type, the recorded owner, and any outstanding lien.
Electronic Oklahoma Titles and Form 718
For a vehicle whose current Oklahoma title record is electronic, Service Oklahoma uses Form 718, Bill of Sale of an Electronic Title, in place of handing over a physical Oklahoma title. The form records buyer, seller, vehicle, and sale information and requires the seller’s notarized signature.
Form 718 is only for a current electronic title. The form also identifies possible additional documents, including purchase-price evidence and any applicable odometer statement. A truck’s GVWR may affect the odometer requirement.

Official form: Form 718, Bill of Sale of an Electronic Title (PDF).
Before Completing a Truck Sale
Identify the current titled owner.
Check whether the title is paper or electronic.
Disclose outstanding financing or liens.
Confirm signing authority for a business-owned truck.
Separate the truck and any separately titled trailer.
Do not sign or alter a title prematurely.
Keep completed transaction records.
These are preparation steps. Specific state requirements depend on the title and transaction.
Existing Paper Title
A valid paper Oklahoma title can still be used. Service Oklahoma generally requires an appropriately assigned and notarized title for the applicable paper-title transfer.
Check that the seller’s name or business matches the ownership record. Do not use Form 718 merely as a replacement for a paper title.
Active Liens and Paid Loans
Oklahoma is a title-holding state. An active lien can affect control of the title and the documents required for transfer. Tell us the lender and lien status when submitting the truck.
Even after the loan is paid, a lien can remain on record until the appropriate release is submitted and processed. The lien must be properly addressed as part of a completed transfer.
Missing Title or Fleet Ownership
First check whether the title is electronic. If an actual paper certificate is lost, Service Oklahoma provides a duplicate-title process using Form 701-7.
For an LLC or corporation, identify the recorded legal owner, signing authority, and any separate lien or equipment financing. Do not assume all fleet units have the same paperwork.

A lost-title inquiry can be described to EasyTruckBuyer, but missing ownership documentation does not guarantee that a truck can be purchased.
SALE REPORTING
Oklahoma Sale Reporting and License Plates
A title assignment transfers ownership; Oklahoma’s sale pre-registration process is a separate step. Requirements vary by transaction type and vehicle category, so the seller and buyer should confirm who is responsible for the applicable submission.
The Two-Business-Day Rule for Covered Sales
Under Ready, Set, Tag, which began September 1, 2024, pre-registration information for a covered Oklahoma sale must be submitted within two business days. For a covered private sale, either the buyer or seller can submit it. The information includes the VIN, vehicle description, sale date, and buyer details.
An eligible private-sale buyer can instead proceed directly to full registration through Service Oklahoma or a licensed operator. In the ordinary pre-registration sequence, the buyer must display the required plate and temporary decals within ten days and complete full registration within two months of purchase.
These are state registration deadlines, not deadlines for EasyTruckBuyer to evaluate, pay for, or collect a truck.

Should Oklahoma Sellers Keep the License Plate?
For a standard Oklahoma private vehicle sale, the seller removes and keeps the existing metal license plate because Oklahoma’s ordinary plates are assigned to people rather than remaining with the vehicle.
If the truck has apportioned registration or specialized commercial credentials, confirm the applicable procedure instead of assuming ordinary plate handling applies unchanged.
Keep completed sale and transfer records. Plate retention is not a substitute for a required sale submission.
Commercial Trailers Are Different
Service Oklahoma lists commercial trailers, commercial rental trailers, farm trailers, and other categories as exempt from the Ready, Set, Tag pre-registration process.
This exemption does not eliminate separate title, lien, or registration requirements. If a tractor and trailer are both being sold, identify each by its own VIN and ownership documents.

HEAVY TRUCK RULES
Oklahoma Commercial Trucks and Odometer Documentation
Vehicle weight and registration status matter. The 16,000-pound GVWR odometer exemption and the separate 55,000-pound commercial registration threshold serve different purposes.
Odometer Disclosure and 16,000-Pound GVWR
Service Oklahoma identifies vehicles with gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) greater than 16,000 pounds as exempt from the odometer-statement requirement. Federal regulation 49 CFR 580.17 also recognizes this exemption. Lighter vehicles may require a statement depending on model year, age, and other exemptions.
Form 718 contains general odometer-document instructions for newer vehicles. If a heavy commercial truck appears to fall within the weight exemption, verify the required documents for that transaction with Service Oklahoma rather than treating the generic form note as a universal rule.
Provide approximate mileage to EasyTruckBuyer even if a formal disclosure is not required. Mileage remains useful for evaluation.

Federal rule: 49 CFR 580.17, Odometer Disclosure Exemptions.
55,000-Pound Registration and Form 2290
For commercial trucks and truck tractors registered at a combined laden weight of 55,000 pounds or more, Oklahoma identifies federal Heavy Vehicle Use Tax documentation, including Form 2290 Schedule 1, among applicable registration requirements.
Combined laden weight is not the same as GVWR. Form 2290 is not automatically a document that every seller must provide to EasyTruckBuyer.

IRP Cab Cards and Straight Tags
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission distinguishes an IRP apportioned plate and its cab card from a commercial straight tag. A cab card documents registration jurisdictions and weights; it does not prove ownership.
Service Oklahoma identifies an IRP title hold that may require a current cab card to resolve. Treat any carrier registration records as separate from the title.
Official source: Oklahoma Corporation Commission Prorated or Straight Tag.
Trucks, Tractors, Trailers, and Fleets
Service Oklahoma distinguishes trucks with permanently attached beds from truck tractors that use detachable trailers. A trailer may have its own title, registration, and lien.
For a fleet sale, supply VIN-specific ownership, equipment, and condition information. Selling the truck does not itself complete every carrier registration or tax-account task.

Preparing Your Oklahoma Truck for Collection
A truck’s mobility and parking conditions affect collection planning. A roadworthy truck in an open yard presents a different situation from a disabled vehicle inside a repair building or behind a locked gate.
Tell us whether it starts and drives, rolls and steers, and whether its brakes can be released. Identify flat tires, damaged axles, missing wheels, seized components, missing keys, or other barriers to movement.
Also describe the property surface, gate access, maneuvering room, attached equipment, or third-party permission needed at a repair facility or storage yard.
These are practical transport-planning questions, not special Oklahoma title-transfer laws. Free towing is included with accepted purchases, but a pickup date is not guaranteed before arrangements are confirmed.
Collection and Access Checklist

Transmission engages and truck moves?
Wheels roll and steering works?
Air or mechanical brakes release?
Tires mounted and usable for loading?
Keys and cab access available?
Gate, surface, clearance, or facility restrictions?
Trailer or mounted equipment included?
Oklahoma Truck Selling FAQs
Do I Need a Vehicle Inspection Before Selling an Oklahoma Truck?
Not every Oklahoma-to-Oklahoma title transfer requires a new official VIN inspection. Service Oklahoma generally requires VIN confirmation when a previously out-of-state-titled vehicle is being titled in Oklahoma, and certain title holds can also require it. A buyer-requested mechanical inspection is a separate evaluation step. See Service Oklahoma Vehicle Titles.
Can an Out-of-State Buyer Purchase My Oklahoma Truck?
Yes, but title and registration steps depend on the transaction and jurisdictions. Service Oklahoma says its pre-registration process applies to covered vehicles purchased in Oklahoma even if the buyer plans to register elsewhere. Check the applicable category and Ready, Set, Tag guidance.
What If My Truck Is Titled in Another State but Parked in Oklahoma?
You can submit the actual location and title-issuing state for evaluation. Parking in Oklahoma does not automatically mean you must first obtain an Oklahoma title simply to inquire about selling. The transfer process depends on the specific sale and jurisdictions.
Can I Submit an Oklahoma Truck That Still Has a Loan?
Yes. Disclose the lender and outstanding lien when describing the truck. A lien must be properly addressed for ownership transfer, and submitting a financed vehicle does not guarantee it will be purchased.
Can a Business Submit Several Trucks With Different Lenders?
Yes. Supply separate VINs, legal owners, lienholders, condition reports, and locations. Each unit is evaluated individually, and purchase of an entire fleet is not guaranteed.
Is Towing Included If EasyTruckBuyer Purchases the Truck?
Yes. Free towing is included with accepted truck purchases. Vehicle dimensions, condition, property access, and transportation planning still affect the arrangements; no particular collection date is promised.
